With "WM Lane" signature, exists in 1 p black on red, 2
p black on yellow and 3 p black on blue.
The Montrose and Bervie Railway (Scotland) opened in 1865. It was joined to the North British Railway in 1881.

Walter Morley lists 4 labels.
"LABEL for PARCEL NOT EXCEEDING 28 LBS." black and
lilac.
In this design (issued around 1910) I have seen: 1/4 p, 1/2 p, 1
p, 2 p, 3 p, 6 p, 7 p. 1 Sh, all in red.
1916(?) With 'lined bottom', I've seen the values 1 p, 3 p, 4 p,
8 p, 11 p, 1 Sh, 1 Sh 6 p (all in green). With white bottom part
I have seen: 3 p, 5 p, 1 Sh, 1 Sh 6 p, 2 Sh, 2 Sh 6 p, 3 Sh, 4
Sh, 5 Sh, 7 Sh 6 p, 10 Sh, all in green. There appear to be two
slightly different sizes of the Shilling values. The L&NERy
took over this company in 1921 and also used green labels in this
design. The Caledonian Railway issued very similar labels in the
color blue. The G&SW Railway issued black labels. The
Highland Railway and several other railways issued similar

Several values exist 1 p black on red (under 3lbs), 2 p black on
red (under 7lbs), 1 p black on yellow (under 3 lbs), 1 p black on
orange (under 5lbs), 2 p black on orange (under 7lbs), 3 p black
on orange (under 7lbs), 4 p black on orange (under 7lbs), 6 p
black on red (under 56lbs), 3 p black on red (under 14lbs), 4 p
black on green (under 28lbs, shown above?).
"Scottish Central Section", "Under 3 Lbs." 1
p black on yellow, "Under 7 Lbs." 2 p black on yellow,
"Under 28 lbs." 4 p black on green.
Only stamp is listed in Walter Morley, but it is probably not
this luggage label.
"NORTH EASTERN RAIL FOR SINGLE NEWSPAPERS ONLY", also
the same but with "AT OWNERS RISK" added at the bottom.
Postal stationary with "NORTH EASTERN RAIL", image in
blue.
No value, weight indicated only; "PREPAID NEWSPAPER PARCEL
AT OWNERS RISK." and red "LOCAL" overprint, 1 1/2
Lb black, 3 Lb black, 6 Lb black and 48 Lb black. The values 9
Lb, 12 Lb and 24 Lb also exist (all in black).
3 p black slightly different design with "AT OWNERS
RISK." deleted.
Similar design, but value in pence.
Value indicated and the word "PRICE" added, I have seen
1 p, 2 p, 3 p, 4 p, all in red.
This design exists with the value in numbers or written, i.e.
"6d." or "SIX PENCE".
In the above design I have seen: with numbers,
i.e. "6d.", 1 p green, 4 p blue, 5 p red, 6 p black
With written values, i.e. "SIX PENCE": 1 p green, 6 p
black
1905 design. I've seen 1 p green on green, 4 p blue on blue, 5 p
red on red, 6 p black
North Eastern Railway Company Parcel Stamp, issued somewhere in
around 1910? I've also seen the 5 p, 9 p and 2 Sh, all in black
on yellow.
With arms behind the value (1912?); I've also seen 4 p black on
yellow.
Issued around 1917, with background pattern. I've also seen a 1 p
black, 3 p black, 5 p black, 1 Sh 3 p black in the same design.
In this design I have seen 1/2 p ("FOR SINGLE
NEWSPAPERS"), 2 p and 3 p (all in red).
