1875 Probably one of the two labels listed in Walter Morley. He
lists two stamps one with a letter "B" (as above I
presume).
1/2 p blue "ONE NEWSPAPER" , I have also seen a 2 p
blue, 4 p blue and a 5 p red both with the bottom text
eliminated.
Some later issue 4 p lilac. I've also seen the 6 p lilac, 7 p
blue, 10 p lilac values (with the same text "LONDON BRIDGE
TO"). In the same design I have seen a 9 p blue, but with
inscription "SOUTHERN RLY" on top.
This railway was created on 1 August 1859. It joined the Southern Railway on 1 January 1923.
Railway Telegraph stamps, inscription "LONDON CHATHAM &
DOVER RAILWAY. STAMP FOR TELEGRAPH Message accepted upon the
Company's conditions VICTORIA STATION"
2 p red label on a letter with a King George VII postage stamp
This company was founded on 1st January 1923 and merged 120 separate railways. Among them the London and North Western Railway, the Midland Railway
Used in 1931. The London and North Western Railway used this
design before. I've seen the values 3 p, 5 p, 8 p, 9 p, 10 p, 11
p, 1 Sh 0 p, 1 Sh 4 p, 1 Sh 5 p, 1 Sh 8 p, 2 Sh, 2 Sh 3p, 3 Sh, 5
Sh (all in red). I've seen a letter from 1940 with a 3 p railway
stamp, together with a 1/2 p green and a 1 p red King George VI
stamps.
I've seen 1 p, 11 p in this design (all in blue). Also a 5 p red
for the "L.M.&S.(High. Sect.). Click
here for more stamps in this 'Scottish' design of other railway
companies.
The London & North Eastern Railway is one of the 'big Four' companies that was formed in 1923.
"L.&N.E.Ry. (North British Section)". I have also
seen the values 7 p, 1 Sh, 3 Sh, all in green. Several station
names that I've seen are: "EDINBURGH", "GLASGOW
(Queen St.)". The Highland Railway and several other
railways issued similar labels. Click
here for more details.
"L.N.E.R. FOR PARCELS CONTAINING NEWSPAPERS AT OWNERS
RISK." 6 p red. I've seen a 3 p red as well.
Very similar label with inscription "THE RAILWAY EXECUTIVE
BRITISH RAILWAYS EASTERN/NTH EASTERN SCOTTISH (L.N.E.)
REGION"; 2 p red. I've also seen a 6 p red.
"LONDON PASSENGER TRANSPORT BOARD L.& N.E.RLYS." 2
p blue. Also "LONDON AND NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY GREAT CENTRAL
SECTION" 3 p blue in a very similar design. Also
"LONDON TRANSPORT BOARD" 5 p red, 10 p red.
Black on yellow paper with red bars, "ONE",
"TWO", "THREE" or "FOUR"
newspapers.
Issued around 1895(?), since some of the above stamps were used

additional overprint of the value: 1 p lilac, 2 p orange, 3 p

North Western Railway Company" written in fancy lettering.
The second stamp has an additional plate number "A" in
the upper top left part. Also a 3 p green (without plate number
in the top left).
Very similar to above, but with normal letters and "AT
OWNERS RISK" added at the bottom. 2 p (plate "H"),
3 p (plate "E"), 4 p (plate "C"), 6 p (plate

these stamps being used in February 1901. The London, Midland and
Scottisch Railway issued stamps in a similar design.
Newspaper ticket, imperforate or perforated. A 1 p also exists.
Newspaper label (with "ONE", "TWO",
"THREE", "FOUR" or no number at the bottom).
Note the 1913 cancel on one of the 1 p stamps. I've seen them
with or without a small number "(626)" on the right
hand side.
"PARCEL POST LABEL". According to Walter Morley, a 9 p
should also exist.
Issued in the early 20th century(?); I've seen 2 p, 4 p, 6 p, 7
p, 10 p, 1 Sh and 3 Sh (all in brown); note the different text in
the centers "Paid Parcel from" or "PAID from"

Another "PARCEL PAID" label used in 1922. I've seen a 1
p, 8 p, 11 p, 2 Sh (all in black) in this design as well. The
