The three types of the '2' for the 2 c on 20 c stamp:

(Erroneous overprint 'RUNION')

For the specialist: The overprint 'REUNION' should have an accent over the 'E', but it is more frequently encoutered without this accent. Erroneous impressions of this word exist, examples: 'REUNIOU', 'REUNIONR', 'REUNIN', 'REUNOIN', 'ERUNION', RUENION', 'REUINON, 'REVNION' and 'REUNION' with inverted 'E'. Furthermore, because of bad printing errors broken or absent letters can occur, like 'PEUNION' or 'EUNION'.

Erroneous 'RUENION' and correct 'REUNION' overprint

Forgeries:

(Forgery, reduced size)

Fournier forgery with "REUNION 23 SEPT 91 ST.BENOIT"?

Page with Fournier forged cancels, the Reunion cancels are on the top row (middle).

Enlarged view of the forged cancels "REUNION 23 SEPT. 51 ST BENOIT", "REUNION 2E/20 JUIN ST.BENOIT" and "REUNION 2 SEPT 84 ST DENIS".

The forged overprints as they appear in the Fournier Album.

The 13 values of the 'Colonies Postes' issues were forged by Fournier, they were offered for 7 Swiss francs in his 1914 pricelist. The overprints and the stamps themselves are forged. For more information on these forgeries click here.

I'm not quite sure if this overprint is genuine, the 'U' and 'N' of 'REUNION' are touching each other

Two forged (?) "REUNION" overprint on Ceres stamps.

A bogus issue consisting of French Colonies with oblique overprint 'LA REUNION' is mentioned as 'Speculations' or 'Schwindelmarke' in Ferdinand Meyer's 'Handbuch fur Postmarkensammler' (Nuremberg 1881). It was issued by some swindlers in Paris in 1885. The following values exist: 5 c on 2 c brown, 5 c on 4 c brown, 25 c on 20 c red on green, 25 c on 75 c red and 25 c on 1 F green. I have never seen these stamps.
