1907 Stamps used in Ethiopia: In 1907 3 stamps of 25 c, 50 c and 1 Franc were used by France in Ethiopia, they were valid in the cities of Harrare and Dirré Daoua, inscription "LEVANT".

1916 The following stamps of French Levant with vertical overprint "ILE ROUAD" are very rare: 5 c, 10 c and 1 Pi on 25 c (many forged overprints exist):

Furthermore a 40 c and 2 Pi on 50 c were prepared but not issued (always cancelled to order it seems, though I have never seen them).


FRENCH OCCUPATION OF SYRIA

Example, stamp of Syria, overprinted "O.M.F. Syrie" (1921)

The following values exist: 25 c on 1 m, 50 c on 2/10 Pi, 1 Pi on 3/10 Pi, 1 Pi on 5 m, 2 Pi on 5 m, 3 Pi on 1 Pi, 5 Pi on 2 Pi, 10 Pi on 5 Pi, 25 Pi on 10 Pi (red overprint). These stamps were also issued without overprint (first definitive issue of Syria).

 

Some stamps of Turkey also exist with overprint in Arabic letters which were issued in 1920 (sorry, no images available).
