Cancels:

(Negative 'H' cancel)

Forgeries:

Forgeries exist of these stamps, examples:

Forgeries and genuine stamp at the right. These forgeries were likely made by Kamigata, the cancel reads "MITATION MO? KAMIG??? POSTAGE ??"

Possibly another Kamigata forgery of the 50 c value.

Probably Spiro forgeries, one with a "FRANKFURT" cancel. I've seen similar Frankfurt cancels on forgeries of other countries. Also a forgery with a pattern of squares.

(Forgeries of the 2 c and 6 c stamps made by Spiro?)

Spiro(?) forgery of the 18 c value.

Another forgery of the 18 c value.

Image from a Torres catalogue
Note the different '8's in the upper circles in this forgery. A similar image appears in the catalogue of Placido Ramon de Torres "Album Illustrado para Sellos de Correo" of 1879 (information passed to me thanks to Gerhard Lang, 2016)

Most of these forgeries are quite primitive (for more examples see: http://www.hawaiianstamps.com/bankfor.html ). I have seen various Spiro forgeries (1 c violet, 2 c red, 5 c blue, 6 c green, 12 c lilac and 18 c brown) There are also some primitive forgeries of other forgers of the 5 c blue and 6 c green values.

Other primitive bogus forgery of a 2 c blue value (in the design of the 5 c).

The forger Oneglia has made a forgery of the 100 c stamp (he lists it in his 1906 pricelist). He also forged the 1893 overprint on this stamp.

A very dangerous forgery of the 50 c was made by Sperati. He used genuine stamps of a lower value, bleached the design and printed his own image on top. In this way, the paper and the cancel are genuine (for more details see the above mentioned website). Sorry, no image available yet.

Forged overprints

There exist forgeries of this overprint, the genuine overprints have a damaged first "i" in the word "Provisional": it has no right bottom serif as the other "i" in this word:

(I think this is a genuine overprint)

I have seen forged overprints with no period after "GOVT", with missing "3" or "93", also forged inverted overprints, forged double overprints (all with a perfect "i" instead of a damaged one).

Forged overprint (second row) made by Fournier as can be found in the Fournier Album.

The forger Oneglia has made a forgery of the 100 c stamp (he lists it in his 1906 pricelist). Both stamp and overprint are forged.
