For the specialist: A star and crescent is impressed on the backside of the stamp (sort of watermark). All values, except the 5 Pi also exist with no watermark at all (1886). The stamps have perforation 10 1/2. Remainders were cancelled to order and sold to dealers.

Types:
Four types exists of each stamp, with minute differences:
Proofs:
Proof impression of the values, the large letters, the word
"PIASTRES" and the Arabic value inscription at the left
bottom part.
Postage due stamp of Egypt, used in "SAWAKIN" (Sudan),
also called Suakin nowadays.
A red cancel, if my information is correct, red cancels were only
used in the town of Tala.
2 m green 5 m red 1 Pi blue 2 Pi yellow 5 Pi grey
These stamps have perforation 11 1/2. If my information is correct, there are again 4 types of each stamp (as in the 1884 issue). These stamps have no watermark.

Most likely a genuine type(?). The first 'I' of the left
'MILLIEMES' has a large blob on it.

These stamps are perforated 14 and have watermark 'Star and Crescent'.

In 1927 a new serie of postage due stamps was issued with an arabic numeral in the center (6 values, in 1932 a new value was added):
Deliberately misperforated stamps, made for the Royal Collection of the King of Egypt:
