Forged 'OS' overprint on 'Halfpenny' on 1 p grey
I have seen stamps of New South Wales and Australia perforated with 'OS' or 'OS NSW' (issued from 1903 to 1927):
1/2 p green 1 p green 2 p green 3 p green 4 p green 6 p green 8 p green 5 Sh green 10 Sh green 20 Sh green
Similar postage due stamps without the inscription 'NSW' at the bottom, were issued for Australia.
(Example, reduced size)
Only this 1 p was issued in the colour lilac. It is actually the lowest value of the next serie.
In this design I have seen: 4 p blue, 8 p blue, 2 Sh brown, 3 Sh brown, 4 Sh brown, 5 Sh green, 6 Sh green, 9 Sh green and 10 Sh red. It seems that also the values 6 p blue, 1 Sh violet, 2 Sh 6 p brown, 7 Sh green and 8 Sh green exist.
In the colours blue and lilac exist the values 4 p, 6 p and 8 p; in the colours brown and lilac the values: 1 Sh , 1 Sh 6 p, 2 Sh, 2 Sh 6 p, 3 Sh and 4 Sh; in the colours green and lilac: 5 Sh, 6 sh, 7 Sh, 8 Sh and 9 Sh; in the colours red and lilac: 10 Sh, 12 Sh 6 p, 15 Sh and 1 Pound.

In 1917 three more stamps were issued (sorry, no picture available) in the values 1/2 p red, 1 p red and 2 p blue.
More Stamp Duty fiscal stamps were issued after 1920, they fall outside the scope of this catalogue.
Later issue, 'NEW SOUTH WALES STAMP DUTY', 1 p red and 3 p lilac.
(Beer duty stamp of 1903, reduced size)
Some very larger fiscal stamps with inscription 'BEER DUTY' were issued from 1889 to 1903. They are quite rare, since they were usually destroyed.
