1937 onwards, King George VI, definitive set

1/2 a brown
1/2 a 'INDIA POSTAGE' in an arc

Small sized stamps (all similar design, "INDIA POSTAGE" in an arc): 3 p grey, 1/2 a brown, 9 p green, 1 a red.

Small sized stamps (all similar design, "INDIA POSTAGE" below, king in an ellipse): 3 p grey, 1/2 a lilac, 9 p green, 1 a red.


1 1/2 a, "INDIA POSTAGE" below, king in a rectangle

Small sized stamps (all similar design, "INDIA POSTAGE" below, king in a rectangle): 1 a 3 p yellow, 1 1/2 a violet, 2 a orange, 3 a lilac, 3 1/2 a blue. Also surcharged "3 PIES" and bars on 1 a 3 p yellow (1946).


4 a "INDIA POSTAGE" below, king on a white background

Small sized stamps (all similar design, "INDIA POSTAGE" below, king on a white background): 4 a brown, 6 a blue, 8 a violet, 12 a red.


12 a larger sized stamp (mail plane).

Larger sized stamps: 2 a orange (Dak runner), 2 a 6 p lilac (Dak Bullock car), 3 a green (Dak tonga), 3 a 6 p blue (Dak camel), 4 a brown (mail train), 6 a blue (mail steamer), 8 a violet (mail lorry), 12 a red (mail plane), 14 a lilac (mail plane, 1940, design as 12 a).


10 R, large sized stamp similar to George V issue of 1911

Large sized stamp similar in design to the King George V issue of 1911: 1 R brown and grey, 2 R brown and violet, 5 R blue and green, 10 R lilac and violet, 15 R green and brown, 25 R violet and blue.


Postal forgery of the 1 R value; the perforation is wrong (11 1/2 instead of 14); it has no watermark.

 

These stamps also exist with overprints for example for Nabha: "NABHA", "NABHA STATE" or "CHAMBA STATE" or "GWALIOR":

1946 King George VI, Victory issue

9 p green, 1 1/2 a violet, 3 1/2 a blue, 12 a red (all similar design).

These stamps were the last stamps issued under British rule.

On large sized stamps (overprint "SERVICE" also larger): 1 R brown and grey, 2 R brown and violet, 5 R blue and green, 10 R lilac and violet.

 

The 1 R stamp with overprint in arabic was issued in Oman.

These stamps also exist with overprints, for example for Chamba: "CHAMBA SERVICE", "CHAMBA STATE SERVICE" or "NABHA SERVICE".

Cut from envelope with image of King George VI, I've also seen 1 a 3 p brown in the same design.

 

In 1947 India became independent and issued 3 stamps with inscription "15th AUG 1947" (3 values)
