CREFELD

1886 Arms and number with wings in ellipse, inscription "EXPRESS COMPAGNIE CREFELD"

I have seen both values rouletted, the 3 p red also perforated 11 1/2.

Postat stationary in this design exists, I have seen 3 p green with inscription "Crefelder Privat-Post POSTKARTE".

This stamps exists rouletted or perforated 11 1/2. Specialists distinguihs two types with smaller and larger envelope:

This company never seems to have delivered any letter!


('Ungultig' overprint, (='not valid'), reduced size)

I have seen postal stationery of this company, 2 p black in the 'small envelope' type; the inscription reads: "CREFELDER EXPRESS - BRIEF - BEFÖRDERUNG CORRESPONDENZKARTE. An in Crefeld Strasse, Hausnummer".

I have seen these stamps cancelled with a black or violet circular date cancel, also with a large blue cross.

Some Parcel stamps of Jos.Schilbers exist, they were issued in 1886; 5 p green, 10 p red, 20 p blue, 30 p lilac and 50 p brown.


CRIMMITSCHAU

Some of the stamps of Leipzig (jumping horse) were also used in Crimmitschau

Different types exist (5?); look at the position of "Pri" and the ornament under the "H" of "HANSA".

These stamps exist with overprint "Control-Stempel Merkur"' or with cancel like overprint "CONTROLL STEMPEL MERKUR".

I've seen postal stationary in the above design ("MERKUR") in the value 4 p blue ("Karten-Brief").
