Fiscal stamps

Some fiscal stamps with a pyramid were issued in 1892 with inscription "GOUVERNEMENT EGYPTIEN" (in the values 1 Pi green, 2 Pi green, 5 Pi yellow, 5 Pi lilac and 10 Pi lilac). Examples (different frames exist):

In 1892 some salt tax stamps were issued (inscription "SALT DEPARTMENT" in the values: 10 m blue, 500 m orange, 1 L red, 2 L green and 5 L lilac). These stamps also exist with surcharged value (50 m on 500 m and 100 m on 1 L). A new design was issued in 1893 (values 250 m blue and red, 500 m orange and brown, 1 L red and green, 2 L green and violet and 5 L lilac and blue), example:

Again a new salt tax design appeared in 1896 (2 values: 30 p black and no value black on green), these stamps have the year 1896 in the design. A similar stamp with '1897' appeared the next year (black on yellow).

Egypt also issued some cigarette tax stamps from 1892 onwards:

Inscription "EGYPTE TROUVEE OUVERTE OU DECHIREE ET REPAREE D'OFFICE", I have seen two different types:

Bogus issues

I have seen stamps of Great Britain, overprinted "EGYPT", king George 4 p green and 9 p brown of the same series, I think these are bogus overprints:

Essays

These essays are listed in the book by J.B.Moens: "Timbres d'Egypte et de la Compagnie du Canal de Suez".

1865, essay by Riester (Paris), reduced size

1869 and 1870 essays by Prevost (Paris), reduced sizes. Some of them might be forgeries.

A 1869 Renard essay.

1871 essay by Charles Skipper from London and a reprint from 1946.

1867 essays by Penasson from Alexandria.

Here a block of four Penasson essays, showing four different designs. The 1 Pi design is slightly different from the one shown above (note the different moons in the corners and the absence of lines below the Arabic text).

1874 essay by the Continental Bank New York.

1871 essay by Penasson from Alexandria

Essay of a 1 Pi stamp, different design. I've also seen this value imperforate (1 Pi) in red. I've also seen a brown imperforate proof without any inscription on top or bottom. It is listed in "Timbres d'Egypte" by Moens on page 35 as being an essay made by Penasson, lithographer in Alexandria.
