In 1902-04 several stamps of Colombia, Bolivar and Carthagena were overprinted 'R CARTAGENA' to serve as registration stamps for Carthagena. Example:

Even though the 5 c and 20 c values are quite common, philatelic forgeries exist. They are fully described in the book 'Focus on Forgeries' by V.E. Tyler. In the 5 c forgery the word 'DE' is different and in the 20 c the '0' of the right bottom '20' is too round (it should be squarish in the genuine stamps). According to this book these forgeries were made by Louis Dumonteuil d'Olivera of Paris.

Two forgeries of the 5 c and 20 c value.

I've been told that these two 20 c stamps are forgeries, I have no further information

Forgery of the 5 P value. The first 'O' of 'CORREOS' is badly done and the 'P' of 'PESOS' does not touch the circle with the '5' as in the genuine stamps. The word 'VALIENTE' at the bottom of the stamp can not be read in the forgeries. I've also seen this forgery with cancel.
