A new serie of stamps was issued in 1929 in Upper Volta with inscription 'HAUTE VOLTA'. It has the image of a native man (1 c to 20 c, 7 values), the image of a native woman (25 c to 90 c, 8 values) or a man on a horse (1 F to 20 F, 8 values).

In 1929 Upper Volta issued its own postage due stamps (inscription 'HAUTE VOLTA', design as above, 10 values ranging from 5 c to 3 F).
