1898 Omaha show

  1 c green (Marquette on the Mississippi)

1901 Buffalo show "Pan America"

These stamps are perforated 12 and have watermark 'U.S.P.S.'. The values 1 c, 2 c and 4 c exist with inverted center, example:

Forged inverted stamps exist. For example the forger R.P.H.Wolle made forgeries of the 2 c inverted stamp (source: The London Philatelist Vol 13, 1904, page 98, which quotes the 'Boston Herald' of March 14). Wolle erased the central part of a genuine stamp and paste an inverted center of another stamp in its place. He then sold several hundreds of them for US$150 each.
