Typical cancel:

Fiscal stamps:

Fiscal stamp FREE FEE stamp "Fiscal Stamp", overprinted "FREE FEE"

These stamps and stamps in similar design exist overprinted "FEE" or "FREE FEE" and are revenue stamps. I've also seen a 5 Sh green overprinted "FEE", surcharged "£1" and bar on the old value. With the "FEE" overprint as shown above I have seen: 1/2 p green, 1 p red, 1 p lilac and red ("FEE" in red), 4 p lilac and blue, 6 p green and lilac ("FEE" in red), 1 Sh green and blue ("FEE" in blue). I've also seen a 1 p red with smaller black "FEE" overprint. Also a large "FEE" overprint in blue and a smaller "FREE" printed above it in red on a 1 Sh green and blue stamp.

Forgeries, example:

Forgery!
Very primitive forgery of the 5 Sh stamp

Illustration from the Mahe journal from 1869
Another very primitive imperforate forgery of the 5 Sh stamp. The design of this forgery is identical to an image in the journal Le Timbrophile by Pierre Mahé of 30 June 1869 and also to the image given in "The illustrated catalogue of postage stamps" by J.E.Gray (1870, page 144, see third image above). A similar image appears in the catalogue of de Torres of 1879 on page 228.

Forgery!
(a non-existing "ONE POUND" stamp, probably made from a 1/2 p stamp with value erased)
