Postal stationary:

(Reduced size)

I have seen in the same design: 1/2 p green, 1 p red, 1 1/2 p (Penny halfpenny) brown and 2 p blue. They were issued in 1886.

In a similar design as the postage stamps of 1883 (but with inscription "GRENADA" instead of "GRENADA POSTAGE") I have seen the values: 1 p blue and 1 1/2 p brown; they were issued in 1881.

A 1/2 p green and a 1 p red with the head of King Edward VII in a similar design.

Registration:

"GRENADA REGISTRATION" 2 p grey, Queen Victoria, issued in 1886. Also a similar one with the image of King Edward VII.

King George V: 1/4 farthing brown, a 1/2 p green also exists.

Red cross labels

This label was not valid for postage, the inscription is "RED CROSS SOCIETY GRENADA ONE FARTHING":

I have seen three types, the first one with inscription '1914 1915' around the cross (see picture above) and the second one with '1914 1915 1916 1917' quite close to the cross. In the third type, the inscription is '1914 1915 1916 1917 1918' around the cross, where '1914' to '1917 are placed quite far from the cross and '1918' is placed vertically to the left of the cross. I know that the third type was printed in two rows of 5, with one row printed upside down, thereby creating tete-beche pairs.

Another label, now with "ONE FRACTION"

Fiscal Stamps

1875 Queen Victoria, color orange, with green crown and value printed on it

The following values exist: 1 p, 1 1/2 p (Three half pence), 2 p, 3 p, 4 p, 6 p, 9 p, 1 Sh, 2 Sh, 5 Sh, 10 Sh, 1 Pound and the overprints "1 d." on 1 1/2 p and "d. 1 REVENUE" on 2 Sh, all in the colours orange with green value inscription. The watermark is a star (either large or small).

They are sometimes used postally, however this was not authorised officially. See also https://www.revrevd.com/grenada.html
A forged 3 Pounds, 10 Shillings value exist by adding the words "THREE POUNDS" to a 10 Sh stamp.

In 1883 these fiscal stamps were overprinted and used as postage stamps (many forgeries exist, see there)..

1884 Fiscal stamps in the same design as the postage stamps of 1883, but now with inscription "GRENADA REVENUE"

The following values exist: 1 p lilac and red, 2 p lilac and blue, 3 p lilac and green, 4 p lilac and black, 6 p lilac, 9 p lilac and brown, 1 Sh green and red, 2 Sh green and blue, 5 Sh green and black, 10 Sh green and brown and 1 Pound green and orange. Half of these stamps were printed upside down, so tete-beche stamps and stamps with inverted watermark (CA crown) can be found.

A "POSTAGE & REVENUE" stamp with a fiscal cancel.

1903 Ship

  1 Pound green and red

Typical cancellations

"A15" numeral cancel on the first issue.

I have seen some very specific cancels for Grenada, a letter (I have seen 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D', 'E' and 'F'), surrounded by the name 'GRENADA' and numbers. There are two types of these letter cancels. Examples:

First type

'A' 'B' 'C' 'D'
Second type

The letters apparently stand for 'parishes'
A: St. Johns
B: St. Marks
C: St. Patricks
D: St. Andrews
E: ?
F: Carriacou

Other Grenada cancel, here from 1887

St. Patricks's towncancel. The name of the cancel St.Patricks was changed to Sauteurs in 1907.

St. George's and Birch Grove towncancel.

Forged cancels

Forged cancel "GRENADA A MA 12 84"

A Jeffreys forgery of the 'TWO POUNDS' overprint, the cancel is a forged "A GRENADA AU 29 89" in a single circle.

Smeets forgeries of Grenada with forged "ST.DAVID'S D JY 25 9 GRENADA" cancel Note that the same forged "ST.DAVID'S D JY 25 90 GRENADA" (now with year "90" instead of "9") was also used on the provisional 1883 issue. I presume that this forgery was also made by Smeets.
