MALMEDY

German territory untill 1918, then ceded to Belgium.

MORESNET

This small territory between Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands did officially belong to none of these countries. Due to a small error in the treaty of Vienna in 1815. In 1886 8 stamps were issued. They were forbidden only 8 days later and overprinted with the following text: "ausser cours gesetzt", (no longer valid). In 1918 it definitively joined Belgium.

Stamps of Germany with overprint in 'Centimes' diagonally were issued for the German post offices in Turkey.
